Senator Stabenow Statement on the Vote to Protect the Freedom to Use IVF
Thursday, June 13, 2024WASHINGTON—Senator Stabenow released the following statement after today’s vote in the U.S. Senate on the Right to IVF Act, which would establish a nationwide freedom to use IVF, expand fertility treatments available to service members and veterans, and lower the costs of IVF treatment.
“For the second week in a row, Republicans blocked a bill to protect women’s reproductive freedoms. Republicans have continued their efforts to erode our reproductive freedoms since the fall of Roe, including the freedom to use IVF. I voted for the Right to IVF Act today to protect this path that millions of families use to start or grow their families. We need to eliminate the barriers that keep our service members, veterans, and families from accessing fertility treatment, not make it harder.”
