Stabenow Statement on Supreme Court Ruling on Mifepristone

WASHINGTON – Senator Debbie Stabenow today released the following statement on the Supreme Court ruling rejecting further restrictions to the safe abortion pill, Mifepristone.

“Mifepristone is safe, effective, and has been used by women for decades. I’m breathing a sigh of relief that the Supreme Court will not restrict this option, at least for today. It is important to note that this ruling does not stop new legal challenges or further restrictions by this court. We have a continuing obligation to remain vigilant in protecting this fundamental freedom for women to make our own reproductive health care decisions.”
