Stabenow Statement on Vote to Protect the Freedom to Use IVF
Tuesday, September 17, 2024WASHINGTON—Senator Stabenow released the following statement after today’s vote in the U.S. Senate on the Right to IVF Act, which would establish a nationwide freedom to use IVF, expand fertility treatments available to service members and veterans, and lower the costs of IVF treatment.
“Once again Republicans blocked a bill to protect access to IVF for millions of American families. Since the fall of Roe, Republicans have continued their assault on our reproductive freedoms, including the freedom to use IVF. I voted for the Right to IVF Act today to protect this path that so many families use to start or grow their families. We need to eliminate the barriers that keep our service members, veterans, and families from accessing fertility treatment, not make it harder.”
