Thursday, August 27, 2015U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters today announced $13,856 for the Watersmeet Volunteer Fire Department in Gogebic County to help improve its operations and boost safety in the community. This support comes from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters grant program.
"Our firefighters put their lives on the line every day to keep our families, homes, and communities safe," said Senator Stabenow. "These new resources will help the Watersmeet Fire Department safely protect their community."
"It is critical that first responders have the equipment and resources needed to protect themselves when responding to emergencies," said Senator Peters. "This funding will help ensure firefighters in Watersmeet can continue protecting their communities in a safe and efficient manner."
