Senator Stabenow Statement on White House Let Girls Learn Initiative

U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow today issued the following statement regarding the Let Girls Learn initiative being led by the White House. This initiative helps young women across the world gain access to quality education:

"I applaud the action President Obama is taking to make sure that all young women in the U.S. and across the world have access to quality education. Having led the first all-women CODEL to Africa last year, I saw firsthand how young women can succeed when they are given the right tools to achieve their goals. Whether it's teaching women to read, or giving them the skills they need to run a small business, Let Girls Learn proves that access to education for young women helps move entire societies forward."
