Senator Stabenow Statement on Senate Passage of Every Student Succeeds Act

U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow today issued the following statement regarding the U.S. Senate’s passage of the Every Student Succeeds Act, which passed the U.S. House of Representatives last week and will now be sent to President Obama for his signature. This legislation, which fixes the No Child Left Behind law, is the first reauthorization of national education policy since 2001.

“This bipartisan legislation makes important investments in preschool and literacy programs, as well as math and science initiatives to help our children compete and succeed. It gives flexibility back to the state and local schools to ensure accountability, and support to our teachers and principals to help improve student achievement.”
