Senator Stabenow Statement on Nomination of Rep. Price as Secretary of Health and Human Services

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Ranking Member of the Health Subcommittee of the Senate Finance Committee, released the following statement on the nomination of Congressman Tom Price to be Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services:

“I am deeply concerned by the nomination of Rep. Tom Price to lead HHS, someone who supports dismantling Medicare and Medicaid, slashing Social Security, gutting women’s health services, eliminating healthcare for 20 million people and eliminating critical patient protections for everyone with health insurance.  It is vital that whoever leads the Department of Health and Human Services is dedicated to protecting the health of all Americans.  Tom Price’s nomination raises serious questions about how our country will continue providing quality, affordable healthcare for millions of American families going forward.”
