Statement
of U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow on Announced Meeting Between President
Bush, Big Three CEOs
|
| WASHINGTON
—U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) today made the following statement
after the announcement that President Bush will hold a meeting on May
18th with the CEOs of Ford Motor Company, General Motors Corp., and Chrysler:
“I am pleased that President Bush is finally willing to sit down with the leaders of Ford, GM and Chrysler. I hope that their meeting will result in the President taking action to help our American automakers – enforcing our trade agreements, securing workers pensions and changing the way we fund health care.” “Our auto industry needs real solutions right now to help level the playing field and preserve good-paying middle class jobs.” |
