Stabenow Announces Dredging Dollars for our Great Lakes Harbors and Michigan Waterways

U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow announced that the annual spending bill for the federal government includes important recognition of the Great Lakes to Michigan, the nation’s economy, and our environment. This bill will allocate over $46 million dollars for harbor maintenance and dredging projects in Michigan. It also includes language urging the Army Corps of Engineers to recognize the importance of Great Lakes harbors and Michigan waterways. This legislation is a big victory for Michigan and the Great Lakes, which are facing water levels that have reached historic lows, jeopardizing shipping and recreational boating in our state.
